people love to trot out the whole “there are good cops too, not every cop” when there’s a directly verifiable story about police brutality, exploitation, and callousness but the second someone talks about their experiences with cops they won’t even give you the time of day, if they even touch on the whole “isolated” incident argument it will come after every attempt to invalidate your story. its so transparent and always the same :/

Thank you.  I mean the only time I’ve seen a cop do anything useful it was country (not city police who are the especially worst) was organize a search party for someone lost in the woods, and you don’t need to have an armed, militarized authoritarian squad of douchebags to do that, just trained rescue personnel.

Like, you don’t need a police force to have investigators, or other useful shit, but like the way we approach our “justice” system and policing is obviously really ineffectual and ends up attracting the worst sort of people to the profession
