Could you please do a reading for me? My custody conference with the solicitors and my ex is in two days time so I can get more time with my son and I’m super hopeful it will work out but terrified it won’t, bc mediation has failed twice already, and waiting for court is going to be months if this fails. Also don’t know how my mental health will go if this doesn’t work either.

So we have the queen of pentacles, a card that’s very practical and material and to me, that seems like it’s probably a representation of you, the six of pentacles, generosity, sharing of wealth, and the ace of swords, victory/raw power.  So to me it seems like the cards are saying play practical and down to earth, try and be patient and calm with your ex as far as you can if only because you’re more likely to succeed that way.

I drew another three to get a little more clarification, the two of pentacles which is about balance, maybe work/life or trying to balance stuff between you and your ex, next we have the ace of rods (aces are new beginnings so I’m getting a lot of “fresh starts” in this reading which I’m reading as a good sign) and the ace of rods specifically is potential/creativity/inspiration and finally the three of swords reversed which is letting go of past hurts and optimism.

So like sounds pretty good.  I drew one more card asking for an obstacle/advice (because like this is a really really positive reading so far and I just wanted to see if there was anything you needed to do make this come to fruition) and I drew the star which means finding inspiration and hope again, getting yourself centered and serene again, personal transformation so like find your calm and purpose.

Incidentally, the queen of pentacles and the six of pentacles are looking away from one another and maybe that means that although generosity and even temper are important in this particular context you also need to keep ahold of yourself and your own needs.

Hey, saw your post about practice tarot readings. If I may volunteer, is it possible to get a general reading about life right now?

diamondz28x2:

thepeacockangel:

Nine of cups reversed, suggests material dissatisfaction, discomfort in your current material circumstances.

The knight of pentacles is the next card and means that you’re trying to change it with plodding consistency but interacting with the next card (the eight of swords) suggests to me you’re feeling sort of… stuck, unable to move forward, and maybe in some way not seeing the forest for the trees.

The next card is strength reversed which to me suggests that you’re feeling unsure of yourself, something has made you question the direction you’re taking with things.  The next card is the Emporer which says to me you need to regain your confidence, take back authority and after that the five of swords reversed, which means that you’ll need to let go of what happened in the past and be open to changing strategies (but in an authoritative, sure of yourself way)

I could be interpreting this entirely wrong, heh, so tell me if I hit on any of this or if I proceeded from erroneous assumptions

This is awesome, thank you so much!

I’m not quite sure how material dissatisfaction fits in with anything, but at the moment I do have a pretty important project I’ve gotta start working on but I’ve been pretty indecisive and unsure how to go about it. In other words I am feeling pretty stuck and unsure of myself and my ability to complete this project at the moment haha. I’m scared it won’t get finished or it will go badly and it won’t be good enough.

Also I would like to ask a former classmate from high school for help with this project, however we were never really close in high school even though we technically grew up together. I don’t know if I should even bother to approach him, if I do I’m unsure and self conscious about approaching him even though I know the worst thing he could say is no. So I think that’s what the interpretation of ‘taking back authority’ and ‘regaining confidence’ could be getting at.

Anyways everything you’ve said pretty much applies to what’s been on my mind as of late, again, except for the ‘discomfort for my current material circumstances’ not quite sure where that fits in lol.

Could possibly be the sense of pressure from the project, cause like “project’s not done” is a material circumstance not like a spiritual one, I think

Hey are you still doing readings? Could you do a reading about my move across the country?

Two of pentacles, balance and good time management will be important to this venture, King of swords, you can keep your balance by approaching things rationally, and not letting yourself get swept off your feet by feelings, page of cups, expect it to be somewhat difficult emotionally.  It sounds like at least in this situation, trust your rational, calm mind, and remember that feelings will pass and that you’ll be okay if you keep on truckin’ basically…

The next card is the four of pentacles, which indicates success but also the possibility of too great attachment to material possessions.  I think that might mean be more selective about what stuff you take with you than you might normally want to be, in the card in the deck I’m using for you (Tarot of the old way) he’s looking to his right at the next card in the spread, jealously guarding his coins from the carefree nine of pentacles.  She stands for fruitful accomplishment and bounty, attainment of goals, it seems like maybe once you’ve attained your goals you’ll have a choice between sort of defensively guarding yourself or enjoying life and the pleasures of being where you get to, also the nine of pentacles is looking towards the eight of pentacles which is the next card in the spread which suggests to me she’s looking towards the hard work and apprenticeship education that is either the next step in her journey or what got her to her current position, so like maybe a warning against resting on your laurels and just sort of… sitting at home for too long once you’ve gotten your move done so you can enjoy life and what you’ve managed to do, and to keep on learning, and maybe find someone who knows the place well to take you under their wing?

Well, I ended up getting into an argument with some facsists where I shouted a lot and called them Devils and Heretics and blew my voice out and had to be dragged away by a friend. I’m recovering from what was for me a very overwhelming event and I want to know what I should do for the Resistance/Revolution I am morally bound to engage in.

I ended up drawing a whole lot of cards here because they just sort of kept talking, the overall drift is that although there is terrible injustice, forcing yourself to do more than you are able is bad for you and bad for the resistance in the long run because you’ll burn out.  Take time for yourself, avoid unnecessary strain, be cautious in how your expend effort, and make sure it is worthwhile.  Retreat for a time, think about what you’re doing.  Don’t let a sense of shame at not doing more force you into doing more than you are able.

Tarot ask: I am starting a new relationship and worried the past will determine the future. Any advice moving forward would be helpful.

The Two of Cups indicates a love relationship, a good and healthy one.  Then we have the Five of Cups reversed which means new relationships and affinities, the healing of old hurts.  We then have the ten of pentacles reversed which indicates chance rather than fixed, destined things.  It’s reminding you not to believe things are predestined.  We then have the ace of pentacles which shows material comfort and felicity but also advises you not to settle merely for material comfort.  Then we have the seven of cups which indicates imaginings, fairy images, I believe this may indicate that you must be careful to avoid letting yourself fall prey to anxious fantasies.

We have the five of swords next to the reversed three of pentacles which combined with the other cards is a warning to base your relationship on collaboration rather than competition and to avoid petty squabbles or it will end badly, and then the hanged man next to the nine of cups, which suggests the need to make compromises and sacrifices (but only when it is wise) and to allow yourself to enjoy contentment.

Okay, I think tarot readings are really cool! Would you please do one for me? I am moving to Japan next month and will stay there for six months to do field research for my PhD. Nervous! What do the cards say?

Alright so our first card is the nine of cups reversed, which suggests that although things you will go well, it is wise to manage your expectations and don’t be frustrated if things don’t go according to plan.  Then we have the seven of swords reversed which means that some people will have good advice for you, the next card the queen of wands reversed, also means that you must be cautious to avoid listening to gossip about someone who will turn out to be good and helpful.

The next two cards the tower and the ace of swords reversed seem to indicate to me that if you ignore this person’s advice because of rumors about them things could go pretty wrong, but if you do listen, things will go well.  Also these cards seem to indicate that there might be some sort of power struggle going on in the institution you’ll be involved with when you arrive, and you should be cautious which side you pick.  I then drew a reversed chariot which just added to the impression of struggle.  The next two cards ten of staves and six of pentacles are sort of complicated, basically, they could be good or could be bad.  Basically, I think all this means to be vigilant in terms of your social environment, and careful of who you trust, but that if you manage that you’ll be very successful

Whoops. Meant to send an ask. Will I see the end of this degree, or should I cut my losses now?

From the info I have:

Five of swords, five of cups, the hanged man, 7 of rods, the high priestess, 6 of cups, the chariot, the sun, king of swords, ace of pentacles.  You’re feeling defeated, really just pretty sad about everything, deeply in need of comfort and space to grieve and think.  However, making sacrifices, pushing through suffering in the pursuit of knowledge is ultimately a part of your path, though I don’t know whether it’s this degree in particular, it’ll be a real struggle to continue, and you will have to rely on deep parts of yourself you don’t even know you have, you’ll have moments of deep nostalgia for times before you began this struggle, but the chariot and the sun represent ultimate victory and peace, the king of swords suggests intellectual attainment and the ace of pentacles suggests a beginning, probably of a materially successful working life
