He was of course a 19th century man, and although he was quite progressive politically, he was just as you would expect of that time
He was also anti-Semitic as fuck as I understand
A lot of his contemporaries didn’t accuse women of being inherently inferior for being less physically strong than men (which he proceeded to argue made women morally and mentally inferior as well) and actually, there were quite a few women socialists/anarchists/etc. And yes, he was.
Fuck Proudhon, like ideas of gender equality existed in leftism by the time of the Paris Commune (check out The Women Incendiaries)
TBH I think you can’t actually be progressive if you don’t believe a group of people deserve human rights because they’re not as physically strong as another.
